At the club's fist UKC Nosework Match, Saturday, August 8, 2015, a special award was presented. Cheryl Smith and Judy Winthrop are the two people who took the initiative to research and and create the beginning of a new UKC club here on the penninsula. Their goal was to help provide more opportunities for hunting closer to home. They wanted this for all dogs but especially for their dogs! It is challenging to travel many miles in order to participate in trials/matches. It is because of Cheryl and Judy, that Nolypen Nosers exists and that the August 8 Match happened.

During the time leading up to the match, Judy's dog, Teddy, became ill and did not survive. Teddy was a wonderful, little guy with a big heart who always gave the "hunt" his best!

In honor of Teddy, the judges selected Angus as the dog that best met the criteria. Nolypen Nosers was pleased to present the Teddy Award - for true determination - to Angus, a rescue Scottish Terrier. Angus does not move very fast but approaches each hunt with true determination!
